Since receiving her MBA from the University of Chicago, Ms. LaPlaca has gained extensive accounting experience through senior roles for companies in diverse industries with assets ranging from $10 million to $600 million. Her primary responsibilities include directing the accounting month-end closing process and preparation of financial statements. Additionally, Ms. LaPlaca has used her technical skills to support executive management in many other financial and accounting projects including:
• Navigating the turnaround of a distressed company, including the bankruptcy of a subsidiary, asset dispositions, and negotiations with creditors.
• Preparing the pre-development and construction budgets for a real estate development project in Las Vegas.
• Modeling capital structure scenarios to assist management with the acquisition of a competitor.
