Gary Stahlberg has 15 years of professional consulting experience in finance, antitrust, regulatory economics, and corporate governance. An accomplished writer, he is also a strong case manager with a developed background in the oversight of staff, engagement schedules, and client and affiliate relationships. Gary has previously been qualified as an expert witness and has submitted testimony, both written and in deposition, before state court on issues relating to antitrust, commercial damages, and class certification.

Gary’s areas of specialty include corporate governance and the evaluation of director performance, particularly in the context of bankruptcy or other business failure. Gary is accomplished also in the definition of markets and the assessment of market power for antitrust purposes, having advised the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and private sector clients in some of the largest merger review proceedings and criminal antitrust prosecutions of the last two decades. In addition, he has considerable experience in the calculation of commercial damages and in the valuation of complex financial transactions. Over his career, Gary has conducted extensive research on markets for pharmaceuticals, energy, and telecommunications equipment and services, and recent investigations of his have focused on lending and derivative trading activities among major financial institutions.

Gary holds MBA degrees from both Columbia University and the University of California at Berkeley. His B.A. degrees, in philosophy and English literature, are from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
